Best Bubble Bread Recipe: Quick and Delicious

Alright, listen up, y’all. We’re gonna make some bubble bread today. I ain’t got no fancy words or nothin’, just gonna tell ya how I do it, the good ol’ way.

First thing’s first, you gotta get yourself some yeast. Not that fancy quick-rising stuff, I use the regular kind. You know, the one in the little packets. You’ll need about two and a quarter teaspoons, that’s about one of them packets. Dump it in a bowl, a big one, cause we’re gonna be mixin’ a lot of stuff in there.

Now, pour in some warm water. Not too hot, not too cold. Like, you can stick your finger in it and it feels nice, not like it’s gonna burn ya or nothin’. About a cup and a half should do it. And a pinch of sugar. Just a pinch, mind you. Don’t go overboard. Sugar helps the yeast wake up, ya see.

  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water
  • Pinch of sugar

Stir that up a bit and let it sit for a few minutes. You’ll see it get all foamy. That’s how you know the yeast is alive and kickin’. If it don’t foam up, your yeast is dead and you gotta start over. Don’t use no dead yeast, ya bread won’t rise.

Next, we add flour. I don’t measure too precise, you know. Just dump it in, about four cups or so. You can always add more later if it’s too sticky. And a teaspoon of salt. Gotta have salt, or your bread’ll taste like nothin’. Mix it all up good. I use my hands, but you can use a spoon if you’re fancy.

Once it’s all mixed, it’ll be kinda sticky. That’s okay. Now, we gotta knead it. Flour your counter a bit, dump the dough out, and start pushin’ and foldin’. Push it with the heel of your hand, fold it over, turn it, push it again. Do that for about ten minutes. You’ll feel it get smoother and less sticky. If it’s too sticky, add a little more flour, a little bit at a time. Don’t dump a whole cup in there all at once.

Kneading is important, makes the bread light and fluffy. My old grandma used to say, “knead that dough like you’re mad at it!” So, you put some elbow grease in it.

After you’re done kneadin’, put the dough in a big, greased bowl. Turn it over so it’s all greased up. Cover it with a clean cloth and put it in a warm place to rise. I usually put it by the stove. Let it rise for about an hour, or until it’s doubled in size. This is the first rise; it’s important to let it rise good otherwise it won’t be fluffy.

Once it’s doubled, punch it down. Yeah, just stick your fist right in there and let the air out. Don’t be shy. Then, dump it back out on your floured counter. This part is kinda fun.

Now, we make the bubbles. Pinch off little pieces of dough, about an inch or so big. Roll ‘em into little balls. You don’t have to be perfect, just make ‘em roundish. Grease a bundt pan or a big ol’ baking dish real good. Then start puttin’ them little dough balls in the pan. Just layer them in there, all snug next to each other. Don’t squish them down too hard.

Cover it up again and let it rise for another thirty minutes. This time it won’t double, but it’ll puff up a bit. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees while it’s doin’ the second rise. Now, you can add some melted butter and garlic on top if you want, adds some good flavor. I like to do that sometimes. Other times, I just put some sesame seeds on top.

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour (or more, as needed)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • Sesame seeds (optional)

Once it’s done risin’, stick it in the oven for about 30 to 35 minutes. You’ll know it’s done when it’s golden brown and sounds hollow when you tap it. Let it cool in the pan for a few minutes, then flip it out onto a rack.

And that’s it! You made bubble bread. It’s soft and fluffy, perfect for tearin’ and sharin’. It’s a good bread for supper or just for snackin’. I like to eat it with butter and honey, but you can eat it with whatever you like. It’s simple, but good. That’s how I like things, simple and good. My family, they always gobble this bread up fast. They say it’s the best. And you know what? I think they’re right.

Tips for best bubble bread: make sure your yeast is fresh. Don’t rush the rising process, let the dough take its time. And don’t be afraid to get your hands dirty. That’s the best way to make bread, get your hands right in there. It’s the way my mama taught me, and it’s the way I teach y’all.

Now go on and make yourself some bubble bread. You won’t be sorry.
