Fiesta Ready: Quick and Tasty Non Alcoholic Mexican Drinks

Well, howdy there! Let me tell ya ’bout some drinks, the kind they make down Mexico way, but without that boozy stuff. You know, the stuff that makes your head spin like a top. We ain’t gonna be talkin’ ’bout that today. We’re keepin’ it clean, like a whistle.

So, first off, let’s yak about Horchata. Now, this here drink, it’s somethin’ special. They call it a creamy delight, and let me tell ya, they ain’t lyin’. It’s made with rice, milk, cinnamon, and sugar. All mixed up and poured over ice. Sounds fancy, huh? But it ain’t. It’s just plain good. Like a sweet hug on a hot day. You take a sip of that, and you just feel… happy. Yup, happy as a clam. This Agua de Horchata, as some folks call it, is a real thirst quencher, that’s for sure.

  • It’s creamy.
  • It’s got cinnamon.
  • It’s served cold.

And if you’re lookin’ for somethin’ to wash down your Mexican food, well, look no further. This Horchata, it goes with tacos, burritos, enchiladas… you name it. It’s the perfect match, like peas in a pod, or biscuits and gravy. I tell ya, it’s the best Mexican drink recipe for any shindig you might be havin’. Birthday party, picnic, even just sittin’ on the porch swingin’. Horchata fits right in.

Now, some folks, they like that Margarita drink. Yeah, the famous one. But that one, it’s got the giggle juice in it. We ain’t doin’ that today. But I heard tell you can make somethin’ similar without the tequila. Just mix up some lime juice and maybe a little somethin’ sweet, pour it over ice, and there ya go. A fancy lookin’ drink without the kick. Not quite the same, mind you, but it’ll do in a pinch.

Then there’s these things called Agua Frescas. Sounds fancy, right? But it ain’t. It just means “fresh waters.” And that’s what they are! They take fruits, like watermelon, or cantaloupe, or maybe even some hibiscus flowers, and they blend ’em up with water and sugar. It’s simple, it’s fresh, and it’s mighty tasty. Especially when it’s hot as blazes outside. You got your Agua de Jamaica made from hibiscus flowers it is real tangy and good for ya, or so they say.

And don’t forget about Mexican hot chocolate! Now, that’s a whole ‘nother story. This ain’t no Swiss Miss, let me tell ya. This here hot chocolate, it’s got a kick to it. They put spices in it, like cinnamon and sometimes even a little chili powder. Warms you right up from the inside out. Perfect for a chilly night, or when you just need a little somethin’ to make you feel cozy. Not just for the winter time either, you can drink it whenever you get a hankerin’ for something sweet and spicy.

And last but not least, we got these things called Mangonadas. Now, these are somethin’ else. They take mangoes, and they blend ‘em up all thick and frosty. Then they put it in a cup, and they drizzle it with chamoy, which is this kinda sweet and sour and spicy sauce. And then they sprinkle it with chili powder. Sounds weird, I know. But trust me, it’s good. It’s sweet, it’s sour, it’s spicy, it’s cold… it’s everything all at once. A real party in your mouth, that’s what it is.

So, there ya have it. A whole bunch of non alcoholic Mexican drinks to wet your whistle. No matter what you’re in the mood for, there’s somethin’ on that list for ya. Whether it’s creamy, or fruity, or spicy, or warm, or cold… they got it all down there in Mexico. And the best part is, you don’t have to worry about gettin’ tipsy. You can enjoy these drinks all day long, and still be able to walk a straight line. And that’s a good thing, ain’t it?

So, next time you’re feelin’ thirsty, or you just want to try somethin’ new, give one of these Mexican drinks a shot. You might just find your new favorite. And if you don’t like it, well, that’s alright too. More for me!

Remember now, these here drinks are good for any time of year, not just for summer or when you eat Mexican food. You can have em for breakfast, lunch, dinner, even a little snack in between. Just don’t go drinkin’ too many of them Mangonadas at once, or you might get a bellyache. That chili powder, it’ll sneak up on ya!

Anyways, I reckon that’s enough talkin’ for one day. Go on now, and get yourself somethin’ to drink. You deserve it.
