Alright, alright, let’s talk about this here “bowtie chicken pasta.” Sounds fancy, don’t it? But don’t you worry none, it ain’t as complicated as them city folk make it out to be. It’s just good eatin’, plain and simple.
First off, them “bowties,” they call ’em “farfalle” or somethin’. Sounds like a sneeze to me! Anyways, they’re just noodles shaped like little bows, like the ones you tie on presents, you know? You can get ‘em at any store, ain’t nothin’ special about ‘em, just noodles. They’re pretty though, gotta give ‘em that.
Now, the chicken part. You can use any chicken you got, really. I usually use them chicken breasts, but you could use thighs, legs, whatever you got on hand. Just cut it up into bite-sized pieces, so’s it’s easy to eat. You don’t want no big ol’ hunks of chicken in your pasta, that ain’t right. Fry it up in a pan with a little oil, salt and pepper, gotta keep it simple.
- Cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces.
- Fry it up in a pan with oil.
- Add salt and pepper for taste.
Then comes the sauce. Now, this is where it gets a little tricky. But don’t fret, I’ll make it easy for ya. Some folks like a tomato sauce, some folks like a creamy sauce. Me? I like a creamy sauce. It’s just richer, you know? Fills you up good. You can buy them jars of creamy sauce at the store, but I like to make my own. It’s tastier that way. It ain’t hard, just takes a little time and elbow grease. I use some butter, flour, milk, and some cheese, sometimes I put in a little garlic for flavor. You gotta stir it real good so it don’t get all lumpy. Nobody wants lumpy sauce. Keep stirrin’ till it’s smooth like a baby’s bottom, that’s what I always say.
So, you got your bow tie noodles cooked up all nice and tender, your chicken all fried up golden brown, and your sauce all creamy and smooth. Now, you just gotta put it all together. Toss them noodles with the chicken and the sauce, make sure everything’s coated real good. You can add some other stuff too, if you want. Some folks like to add peas, or mushrooms, or peppers. Me? I just like it plain and simple. Just chicken, noodles, and sauce. That’s all you need.
They call this “marry me chicken pasta” sometimes, ain’t that somethin’? Said to be so good that someone might ask to marry you after eating it. I don’t know about all that, but it sure is tasty. And you know what I say, good food is the way to a man’s heart. Or anyone’s heart, really. Everybody loves a good meal. Fillin’ bellies makes folks happy, and happy folks are good company.
Now some folks, them fancy Italian fellas, they say you ain’t supposed to put big chunks of meat in your pasta. They say it’s not the Italian way. Well, I ain’t Italian, so I don’t care what they say. This is how I make it, and it’s mighty good. If they don’t like it, they can just go on and eat their fancy pasta somewhere else. I ain’t forcing nobody to eat my food. But I’ll tell you what, they’re missin’ out.
So there you have it, my recipe for bowtie chicken pasta. It ain’t nothin’ fancy, just good, down-home cookin’. Easy to make, fills you up, and tastes mighty good. Give it a try, I bet you’ll like it. And if you don’t, well, more for me!
And one last thing, don’t forget to cook your noodles right. Bring your water to a good boil, add a little salt if you want, and then toss them noodles in. Stir ‘em around a bit so they don’t stick together, and cook ‘em for about 9 to 11 minutes, or until they’re nice and tender. You don’t want no crunchy noodles, that ain’t right. Al dente, they call it, means it’s got a little bite to it, but ain’t hard. Just right.
Alright, I’m done talkin’. Go on and make yourself some pasta, you won’t regret it. And don’t forget to invite me over for dinner sometime, I’m always hungry!
